St Louis House of Ice Cream & Dessert is a favourite go-to dessert restaurant in Glenelg for its diverse range of desserts, located right across Moseley Square, less than a 10 minutes' walk from our motel.
Indulge in a warm, melted chocolate fondue, which comes in four different arrangements (including a vegan fondue) on a cold night or pick from more than a dozen ice cream and sorbet flavours on a warm summer night. If you can’t decide, choose from four different Dessert Creations, a platter with either chocolate fondant, vegan berry slice, chocolate cookie ganache, macarons, or dulce de leche, served with fresh fruit and other toppings. Pair any of these with a juice or a simple hot chocolate or coffee for the full experience. The possibilities are endless at St Louis, all at an affordable price.
The crepes are delicious and is perfectly sized - just enough to share for two or just enough for one without feeling sick afterwards - and can come served with one scoop of any ice cream or sorbet. Platters are very generous, and - this goes for all dishes - are gorgeously presented when served.
The restaurant is classy but cozy, with an outdoor seating area for those who wish to people-watch Moseley Square or watch the sunset behind the palm trees.
The service is usually quick but can sometimes take up to 20-25 minutes for cooked orders (e.g. crepes) during peak times. Opt for takeaway ice cream when no seats are available.
We recommend the St Louis Fondue (marshmallows, waffle pieces, milk chocolate, strawberries and bananas), churros or Strawberry Nutella Crepe.
