With sixteen locations across Australia, Montezuma's is a must try for Mexican food lovers. 

Only using the freshest, locally sourced ingredients to create authentic, Sonora-style (has a mild spice level to accommodate for most palates) recipes, all their dishes are made fresh to order.

On offer for starters or entradas are nachos, tacos, and a wide range of dips, great for sharing and averaging at about $13-$15.

For mains, their #1 Montezuma’s Delight is a house special: a corn tortilla served with either beef or chicken, topped with frijoles, cheese and a salad with ranchero sauce, olives and sour cream. Other mains include garlic prawns, albondigas (meatballs), enchiladas and paella (spanish rice). Combination plates are also available for those wanting even bigger meals or for those who want to share - these average at around $25 each.

Finally, for dessert, opt for the churros, platano de pina (a warm banana wrapped in a cinnamon wheat tortilla drizzled with pineapple glaze, served with cream or ice cream, or coconut cream for a vegan option), or a mexican flan. For those who are more adventurous, ice cream can come served with coconut liqueur or kahlua, or have their coffee made Mexican-style, with Kahlua and coconut cream.

What's more, Montezuma’s Glenelg stocks one of the largest selections of Mexican beers and classics in Australia. They also serve cocktails such as margheritas and sangria.

The restaurant is very colourful and very festive, you won’t miss it when going past as the outside is decorated with bright yellow, blue and red colours. On the inside, along with wooden tables and chairs, the walls and ceiling are decorated with colourful ornaments and artwork.

At Montezuma’s, they understand the challenges of gluten-free customers. They have resolved this by making most of their menu gluten-free, with vegan meals also available!
