This ones a bit of a tongue twister - Sheshells Restaurant on Moseley Street, ranked #2 on TripAdvisor for seafood and restaurants in general in Glenelg, hasn't received multiple awards for no reason.
Describing itself as a proud family-run business created from a love of SA produce, SheShells restaurant specialises in the freshest seafood grown locally, particularly black mussels, cooked using recipes inspired from an international cuisine.
Their menu includes prawns, calamari, daily freshly caught fish, lamb chops, and of course their specialties - Italian black mussel pot, Malaysian mussel laksa, and seafood supreme laksa made with not only black mussels but a wide range of other seafood.
Their brunch menu consists of delicious bruschettas, scrambled eggs, a smoked salmon dish and a fish burger, while also catering to families with a fun kids menu. They also serve a wide range of SA wines from Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale wineries.
Now open and trading 7 days from 5pm till late, SheShells recommends booking ahead for dinner, or calling in for takeaway.
They recommend their scotch fillet in lime butter and garlic prawns, but if you wish to have a picnic by the beach on a sunny day, take their 'beach basket pack' which is complete with panko-crumbed fresh fish, calamari, prawns, salad and gluten-free chips!
Their menu caters for vegans and people with allergies to gluten and seafood.
