Scandinavian-Inspired Swedish Tarts

Posted by Nicole Catabran on 9 March 2019 | Tags: , , ,

Swedish Tarts Glenelg, a Scandinavian-inspired cafe, is the newest addition to a franchise with locations in Henley Beach (most popular), Port Adelaide and Semaphore. Don’t be fooled - though their name hints at their famous Swedish Tarts, they offer a lot more than that.

This cute cafe not only features breakfast favorites such as smashed avocado, eggs benedict, salads and smoothie bowls, but also gourmet meals such as truffle mushrooms on eggs and pumpkin fritters. They serve locally roasted specialty coffee, spiced drinks, dutch hot chocolate and a range of iced teas and fresh juices. Dishes are generous and presented beautifully.

The general layout of the cafe is very cozy and is located less than a 5 minutes’ walk from Jetty Road and the motel. Visit their original cafe in Henley Beach for an even wider selection of breakfast and lunch meals such as flatbreads, crepes and waffles, milkshakes and lots of dessert options to satisfy your sweet tooth. Other sister cafes and restaurants include Malobo and Hermanos Cubanos - both also very highly recommended.

(Vegan, dairy free and GF options available.)

We recommend the smashed avocado on toast, truffle mushrooms and nordic berry and mint iced tea.
