Moseley Bar & Kitchen

Posted by Nicole Catabran on 12 November 2018 | Tags: , , ,

The Moseley Bar & Kitchen, located only a 5-10 minute walk from the motel, is a well-known, high-end bar & restaurant in Glenelg, mostly for being a popular nightclub and bar for both young adults and older couples, evident by long lines on the weekend.

The ground floor is mostly for the restaurant, where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served. The ground floor kitchen menu boasts succulent dishes such as a soft shell crab salad, a lemon cured pork belly, or a confit chicken & pistachio terrine for entree, and a housemade linguini or a barramundi fillet for the main. There is also a 14-hour wood roasted lamb shoulder and angus pure beef fillet from the grill and some panna cotta or a nutella calzone for dessert.

If you can't choose, a tasting menu with dishes handpicked by the chef can also be chosen for $60 per person.

The dishes are served professionally, though servings are smaller than those of a casual restaurant. The staff are polite, and the service is usually quite quick, appropriate for the level of quality of the meals served.

The bar itself, which opens from 9pm onwards and is located mostly on the second floor with a balcony and outdoor seating, enjoys stunning views of Moseley Square, the sunset and the beach.

The drinks are unique, featuring a drink or cocktail for all taste buds, but the price of one can be the equivalent of the price of two drinks at a casual bar. Local and international wines, beers and spirits are also served.

The bar also has its own kitchen, serving bar eats for those who get peckish while on a night out, including pulled pork croquettes, school prawns, burgers, and even a dessert pizza.

The Moseley is stylishly decorated, with white, woven hanging chairs; a shiny, white marble bar; a horizontal rock fireplace can be found in the corner for those cold nights; there are high benches and normal dining tables so seats are abundant; and even the plates which some of the meals are served on are of a stunning blue pattern.

During the summer months of December through to March, the Moseley Beach Club can be found on the beach right next to the jetty, featuring sunbeds under tents where you can enjoy cold drinks in a coconut.

Vegan and gluten-free options are available.

We recommend the angus sirloin, tofu miso broth, truffle mac & cheese, and the chocolate terrine.
