Mamma Carmela can be found on Moseley Square next to Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill and Europa, just a 10 minute walk from the motel.

While their extensive menu sticks to their Italian roots with Italian dishes like pasta and gourmet pizza to antipasti, bruschettas, calzones and focaccias, they also offer diverse options for dessert, seafood, meat dishes and kids meals. They also have house specials on offer such as saltimbocca alla romana (a famous veal dish wrapped around pancetta and mozzarella cheese, rolled in fried crumbs, and topped with napolitana sauce), spinach & ricotta cannelloni, and vegetable lasagna.

Unlike other Italian restaurants in the area, this is perfect for a dine-in meal with the entire family, especially because of their wider range in Italian cuisine and larger servings. Most of their dishes come with a choice of entree or main size, depending on how big you would like the serving to be.

The staff are polite but always busy, and the service is pretty quick. This popular, authentic Italian restaurant can get quite busy but finding a seat is never usually a problem as outdoor seating is available, which overlooks the square, the beach and the jetty. The restaurant itself is brightly lit with shiny wooden tables and chairs, making an inviting place to eat with the whole family. What's more, the gelato station is positioned so that one may order gelato for takeaway without having to enter the restaurant, making it convenient for a quick sweet treat.

Breakfast is also available until a certain time, and includes Australian favourites such as the big breakfast, eggs benedict, omelettes and croissants.

Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.

We recommend the carbonara pasta, supreme pizza, mexican gourmet pizza, arancini and potato wedges on the side.
