With so much going on in the area, and warm weather to boot, it’s going to be a busy month down the bay. Here are just some of the events going on around Glenelg over the next few weeks:

Rescue 2012 Life Saving World Championships

The Life Saving World Championships is the largest life saving sport competition in the world. Approximately 4000 competitors from around the world are expected to attend across three venues, Glenelg Beach, Christies Beach and the State Aquatic Centre at Marion. National team competition, the inflatable rescue boat championships and beach competition for the masters and interclub championships are all taking place.

Melbourne Cup

Thousands will head down to Morphettville Racecourse to on the 6th November to celebrate the 152nd Melbourne Cup Carnival and watch all the action live on the big screen.

Watermark Glenelg South Australian Beach Volleyball Series

The Watermark South Australian Beach Volleyball Series 2012/13 is the premier beach volleyball competition showcasing some of the best local, interstate and international talent in the sport. Each fortnight a one day event will be contested by elite senior,  junior and recreational players with the results of each event contributing to the overall series winners at the end of the summer.

Glenelg Christmas Pageant

The 2012 Glenelg Christmas Pageant will bring lots of colour, joy and Christmas spirit to Jetty Road. Pre-pageant entertainment starts at 10.00am with plenty of Jetty Road pageant activities to enjoy! Be sure to stay and enjoy the entertainment and meet Father Christmas following the Pageant!

World Bowls Championships

The Holdfast Bay Bowls and Croquet Club is one of the hosting clubs for the 2012 World Bowls Championships. This event will host 28 countries from around the world with over 350 players and officials attending.

Beach Rugby Championships

The Beach Rugby Championships consists of men's and women's divisions playing a 5 a side, full contact round robin rugby tournament. Players compete in 5 minute halves in this knockout style competition. With music, competitions, crowd activities and giveaways, this is sure to be one awesome beach party.
